I got my off white Duraflame electric fireplace in November 2023. I have been using it daily since then and love looking over at its cheerful “fire.” The stove puts out good heat, and accurately reaches whatever temperature I have set it at. (I have checked this by looking at my wall thermostat.) It can be set as low as 62 and as high as 84.
I have also frequently used it without the heater on – just for the ambiance, the cozy look of a fire in my corner “fireplace.”
I especially love the ambiance of this stove / fireplace, how attractive it is. I know that in warmer weather, I will also enjoy looking at it, and will use its surface as a display area. It weighs only 35 lbs. and I could easily move it to other parts of my home if I wanted to. I appreciate that the top of it only gets warm, not hot.
Only one hiccup (which doesn’t matter to me) – my remote only serves to turn the stove off and on and adjust the faux flame height; it does not adjust the temperature or the timer. To change the temperature, which I rarely do, I need to open the door of the fireplace and manually push the “temperature button.” It’s easy, and not a big deal for me as I am a flexible person who has no problem kneeling down.
And, frankly, that’s kind of what I feel like doing daily – bowing to this little gem of an electric fireplace that keeps me warm and provides such a cheerful presence in my home.
Don’t be surprised that the legs are heavy plastic. They work just fine. The rest of the stove, as described, is glass and metal. It comes very well packaged. Screwing in the legs was a breeze. Have AAA batteries on hand for the remote.
If you want a wonderfully cozy look and a very good little heater at a good price; and if you can deal with a remote that functions mainly as an on / off button, you may be as pleased as I am with this little electric fireplace! Word has gotten around my condo building and now 7 of us own it in different colors. (The red and blue are lovely, rich shades.) We are all 7 pleased with it!

I’ve been jonesing for a fireplace at the edge of SF by the cold misty ocean so whenI discovered these I was intrigued and did a lot of due research and out of all the stand-up electric fireplaces this is always at the top. So I took the plunge and ordered the black model and it arrived so here are my list thoughts to help people decide and fill in some detailed blanks from other reviews:
1. As many state, the legs are too cheap and don’t screw in all that easy. I used an electric screwdriver. This could easily be better fitted and designed. Why not just have the legs be connected to the bottom and just pop out?
2. The remote is fine for on/off and powering through but without any visible display you have to guess and still change the heat with the display button. It should be dimly lit at the least so you can see them. I don’t mind opening the gate to keep the front free of electronics but the remote could do all this.
3. For my apartment and living room, this provides a nice toasty heat and ambience. It won’t replace the home heater but sitting on a chair or couch nearby, it works well. A guest fell asleep on the couch during a movie last night because he was so cozy he said. I haven’t even turned it up past 74 so I imagine it can get warmer.
4. I was worried about the fan sound but it’s as quiet as it could be and with other noise you won’t hear it. I suggest a crackling fire sound to override.
5. I wish it had a crackling fire sound built within…
6. The 3D flame effect is nice as as faux natural as it could be. They could have used way more creativity on the log and wall design (paint the bricks red or something!) but I really liked the other smaller Duraflame models with a more red ember base. I also wish the 3D flame was designed so it wasn’t a loop pattern but free form. A touch of red in the flame would be nice as used in other models.
7. The base and glass gate are nicely constructed. It looks good.
8. Overall, I actually really like this and it wasn’t so expensive I can’t get another model down the road or regret buying this. It warms me in the chair by a misty window as I read and listen to music or watch a movie and I can buy the illusion, plus it is eco-friendly.
9. WARNING: Plug this into your wall socket or it likely will shut off your power. I tried on a super powerful outlet with only the Duraflame plugged in and pop went my circuits. So keep it in one wall socket!
10. Flame on!

Perfect for heating the open kitchen and dining room in my old farmhouse. I have a gas Lopi Direct Vent for heat but the large long kitchen and dining area are always very cold. The stove is Very pretty and light weight. I replaced my old rather expensive Dimplex that was very heavy and quite large. I loved the fireplace but it only heated 400 sq feet and just electric heater with no thermostat. Of course it also was expensive to run. This new stove fit perfectly in the fireplace mantle I made for esthetics. I just removed the Duraflame log set I bought for it and set the new one in it’s place. The other stove had the heat below near the floor which I did not like. My new Duraflame heats the large 24 ft long area very comfortable. I can barely hear the fan. The adjustable flame setting is realy nice and I like the timer that I usually set to shut off about two hours after I go to bed. I use a 15 AMP Appliance extension cord that plugs in about 12 feet away directly into a 120 outlet. I have checked the cord and the plug several times and neither gets even warm to the touch. My other heater actually melted part of the plug end and that was on low. I can’t say enough about this stove. If you need extra heat to help warm a fairly large room, I would highly recommend this stove.

This is a pretty nice electric fireplace/stove. The heat output is more than what I expected & the flames look very realistic. It is well constructed & arrived at my doorstep undamaged, thanks to the excessive packaging. Remote works well at over a 10ft distance. Highly recommend this stove if you what to add a bit a heat to a colder location in your home with a nice ambiance.

Really impressed and happy with this small electric fireplace. Good quality and the flame is the best I have seen compared to other products. Heats well and quiet compared to others. I am happy I spent the extra dollars for this one as it doesn’t look cheap compared to others I have seen for less.

I’ve had this little Duraflame Fire Place for 3 weeks now. I have zero regrets…it lovely and well built, throws off plenty of heat. Its fire/logs is the most realistic I’ve seen. Here is the important thing you need to know…its whisper quiet! It was sent to me very well wrapped with no damage. Great little fireplace…I did all the leg work for you..just buy it now…
