   This is my first Dyson purchase. Im so happy with it! The heating feature on this fan is awesome. it warms a room in minutes. It stays on until the room is warmed to the desired temp and then shuts off. it will turn back on when it starts to cool. The cool aspect of this fan goes up to 10 speed settings. and has all the usual options for a fan – timer, oscillation, and tilt. It also has an option to direct the air through the room or straight shot on to you. And it comes with a handy remote! I will never buy another brand of fan ever! Once you go Dyson, you won’t want anything else.

   I purchased this heater for a large sun-room that is quite cold in the winter months. It is a large space to heat but this does the job well. It’s quiet and stylish. So quiet that I have sometimes forgotten to switch it off, although that can be solved with the timer feature. It provides a heat that does not dry out the atmosphere. The heater is well constructed and easy to move to a different location. It’s not as cheap as some similar products but you get what you pay for.

   I bought this model in 2017 for our master bedroom. I wanted a quality fan that could heat and not run up the electric bill. After researching, I chose to spend a bit of extra money on the Dyson AM09.

   Our master bedroom sits right above the garage and during the winter, can be a little bit cooler that the rest of the house. After plugging the AM09 in, I had no problem figuring out how to use the heat. The cool fan button is blue and the heat is red on the remote. There is a temperature display on the front that lights up nicely and is easy to read both in daylight and darkness. We set the temperature at 70° and the fan runs all night. Great thing about this fan is it runs heat for a while and then cuts off the heat, so it’s not continuously on. When the heat cuts off, the fan continues to run at the lowest speed setting barely creating a breeze. Once the heat kicks back on, fan speed increases back up to the level you set it at. There are 10 speed settings. This fan runs very quietly, so if you do not like a noisy fan, you might want to consider this one.

   This fan is not designed for large master bedrooms. It does take a little while for our room to heat up to 70¯. Our master is 16X18. We’ve run three winters with this model. No problems at report. Also, unlike some cheaper heater/fans, the housing surrounding the heating element has not warped or been damaged. The housing unit when the heat is on is not hot, unlike other companies heater/fans.

   So we just bought another AM09 a few weeks ago for my daughter. She loves it, we love ours, and I would recommend this model if you have the extra cash to spend.

   So I was hesitant to purchase this heater/fan initially because of the high price tag but I will say that now that we have it in the house we are absolutely loving it. It is ideally suited for small spaces so we use it to keep our daughters’ bedroom warm during colder months. It does this job exceptionally well- the room stays perfectly comfortable without fear of overheating the girls due to the built in thermostat and the ability to adjust the fan power at a comfortably low setting. This is true for the cooling fan as well. Other fans we’ve used are loud and overpowering and need to be placed in front of a well ventilated area to push cold air out. The intensity of the fans make it too cold to keep on all night. Not so with this fan – again somehow this fan manages to have just the perfect settings so you can adjust it to be cool enough but not overpowering. And we can stick it in front of a wall and it still manages to push cold air out. It is also very safe because unlike other space heaters it does not get hot so you don’t have to worry about little ones burning themselves if they touch it. The things to consider about this unit are the following : it is not well suited for larger spaces like a large open living room- while it will heat the space it will not do it sufficiently enough to feel toasty warm like a larger unit would. It also can not be used as an air conditioning unit for larger spaces – the fan is very effective and does a good job of cooling you in a small space but it does not have a high intensity cooling system like AC units do. Essentially if you have a small space that you need to heat and cool comfortably then this will work well for you. I would say it is best used to heat or cool a child’s room because it is safe, quiet and not overly intense so you never have to worry that your child is too hot or too cold at night while they sleep. That being said as much as we love the unit (and it is really an exceptionally well made and high quality product) we did get it on sale and I’m not sure that we would have bought it at full price, as it is quite expensive for just being a simple fan and heater.

   I noticed that my current roommate keeps the temperatures a little out of my ideal zone (Sometimes it’s a bit too cold or a bit too hot for me). The Dyson Fan Heater solved that problem easily! When my room gets cold at night, I just turn it on, and within minutes my entire room becomes warm again! Like wise, the fan portion works as expected, which can really help in the 110 degree Las Vegas summers. The different settings for timers, and diffused vs. direct cooling/heating work even better then I thought. Sometimes it feels really good to just sit in the fans way, and other times you just want it to cool/heat your whole room asap, and these functions really help with that.

   The big question is what makes this product worth paying such a price premium vs. a fan & space heater. First, is the size. This unit is absolutely tiny for what it can output. Also, since it does both heating and cooling you don’t need to have 2 different products. Additionally, the Dyson is safe. Watching all the fires started by space heaters, I feel a lot more comfortable with this unit,esp. since Dyson is such a reliable/trusted brand. If you have small children, the lack of blades can be a big plus too! Last, and maybe the most shallow, this unit is beautiful to keep on your counter/desk/stand. It has almost a futuristic appearance, and I’ve been asked more then a few times what it is. I was really worried that I would be wasting my money, but it was worth every penny! If you can afford it, and you want both a heater and a fan, this is the product for you!

   I have this same heater in black that is 5 years old. It still works great but the digital display was missing a few digital readings. It was difficult to figure out the temperature. I bought this one to replace it. (My hubby uses the old one in his office on cold days) I know it’s a great heater & cooling fan. I love the white. It looks great in my sunroom. Would recommend!
