It’s a great little cooling fan that cools you only when you’re in the direct line of the fan stream. Otherwise you don’t feel any kind of temperature change in the room. I wouldn’t buy this version, I would go down to the $200 one, there’s really no difference in between other than this one has smart home capabilities (I didn’t try this feature). After one use and keeping it on a stable surface, I noticed my desk had water damage and was confused, turns out the evaporator had leaked all over my desk and had caused the wood to warp. Irreversible damage, luckily my computer tower was just out of reach of the puddle.
I tried troubleshooting but it seems to just be a manufacturing defect. This was super disappointing is it’s so so expensive, I only chose it because it’s quiet, and the lights are super pretty, and I thought since it’s so expensive it would be good quality.. but now it’s an electronic hazard. Had to return it.
Regarding the delivery and seller, the product came very quickly and the packaging was all sealed perfectly, I blame the manufacturer company.

Evapolar is cooling me in THE WORST conditions! I started this amazing cooler 3 hours ago in greenhouse conditions. My greenhouse heats my house and I thought….what an Impossible challenge! I threw open my house windows into the greenhouse and was hit by high temp from a greenhouse in bright hot sun all morning and HUMIDITY!! The humidity was so high that the windows were fogged with running water, the roof of the greenhouse was raining and covered by droplets of water and my glasses fogged immediately! I set up the Evapolar because I was Hot from Mowing and now the house temp (and high humidity) felt unbearable. Set up was fast and easy! I wanted to power it with a power source so I could take it camping….how long can it run?…..AMAZING Relief from the heat! I sat facing the fan only 2 ft or a little less away. I set it on 77% for fan because I wanted to have the minimum setting that felt good. And it FELT GOOD! I cooled faster than my battery for lawn mower recharged, in fact I had to back away a little. The drop in temp showed only 3.7 degree drop…BUT Wow that felt good and refreshed! I finished mowing the yard, closing the windows before I left. Surfaces in the house were dripping, doors, faucets, Felt hot and stuffy and humid when I came in again, but surprising the Evapolar had dropped temp 2 degrees and the difference between room temp and coming out of Evapolar had changed to a 4.2 degree change. Sat in front of the cooler really feeling overheated and Ahhhhhh cooled me down ! The sun came thru the windows but I left them closed the temp diffence went between 3.9 to 4.3 degree drop and that FELT GOOD! What a horrible test to do to a machine….worst conditions! I wanted to know right away if I was going to keep it! Even at a 3.4 change in temp when I first started FELT So GOOD! I was looking for something to take camping that would work in mid west hot humid summers that would bring my temp down quickly and WOW! Iowa is never this humid! I know in the past that the greenhouse goes way over 100 degrees on sunny days. So it was a unfair test but I am Delighted that it worked so well. It is 4 hours and water tank is about 1/4 full (so humid it can’t use much water) that power pak is still going strong! My unit is built well of sturdy materials. I do wish temps were in F not C. I have no desire to use Aps etc….simple pleases me. I like the operation bec it is logical and did not require a lot of instruction time. I think that it is slowly cooling this whole room….but that is not what it is Good at. What it is GOOD At is Cooling Me in conditions only a 5000 BTU air conditioner could have and I would have had to sit directly in front of it to cool as much as this little Evapolar did!! If that is what you want….Personal Cooling….this is a Wonder! This machine is whisper quiet which I like too. My house is still hot and humid…I find I want to stay in front of the cooler….so if you want to wander around doing other things this is not for you…but if you want quick relief, or good sleeping it is an amazing little thing! Room IS cooler and the difference in temp from room to what is coming out the Evapolar is 4.5 to 5 degrees cooler and I have to move back now or feel too cool. I LOVE It!

I have now had three of these units. All three had some kind of problem, but they cool better than any other I’ve tried, so I keep getting new ones. The first one had a software issue and no matter what the support people had me try, it would not connect to my network. They eventually, after more than a year, sent me a new unit. It connected! Yay! But after awhile, the water tank cracked all along the side seams. They insisted that damage could only have been caused by severe impact. I’m a little old lady who lives alone. There was no impact, believe me.
My current problem is I again can’t get it to connect to my WiFi since I got a new modem. I have three iPads, two iPhones, a PC, a wireless printer, an air antenna, a FireStick, an Apple TV, and a robotic vacuum cleaner. I was able to connect all of those. But not my Evapolar. Nope, nope, nope. I have tried everything, but no luck, so I can’t even turn it on with the app. If they ever come up with more robust software, this unit would get a better review.

This product is not good. It advertises “smart control” through a smart phone app but the app doesn’t work with the latest version of Android which has been out for almost 8 months. When I asked customer support about when it will be supported, they had no idea and couldn’t give me a time frame. So I couldn’t use any of the smart phone features which means you can’t do much of anything with it. You can’t even change the temp between C°/F° on the machine. All you can do it turn it on and adjust the fan speed.
On to how it actually runs. The machine only gets the air about 5° cooler if you’re directly in front of the fan. It also burns through water really quickly. I have to refill mine about every 2 hours of use. Also after maybe 2 days of not turning it on, I turned it on again and there was a bad mildew smell coming from the machine. When I asked customer support about the issue, they told me that there’s nothing I can do except run it every day for at least an hour or empty the water out and take the air filter out to dry if I’m not going to be using it for a couple of days. This machine is garbage for the price you are paying for it. Get a $20 desk fan and you will be way better off.

I am so pleased with this tiny air conditioner fan as it was exactly what I needed. it is lightweight, easy to pack and travel with and it served its purpose.

As advertised, this product lowers temperature and raises humidity in a small area. I have it sitting on my desk, and even when the office is 80 degree, the area I sit is nice and cool. The thermostat in the unit shows a ~19 degree difference between ambient temperature and the air it is putting out, and that feels about right. Ambient humidity in the room is normally around 30-35% (I imagine performance would start to drop as humidity got higher).
The fan is extremely quiet at around 60% and below. At 100% it is loud enough that it would be audible/distracting on a conference call.
Five stars for being a great, quiet personal area cooler. Three stars for price/value, because it’s fairly expensive.
