Just transfer the thermocouple and igniter to your old mounting plate with the original pilot jet. The replacement is way too big and the pilot flame was 6-8 inches.

I got dirt/dust in my polit line, and it would not stay lite. Tried to blow, shake and even tried a fine wire to clear, nope. Finally, I purchase this replacement item and in about 10-15 minutes my heater was back up and running. I purchase a 5-foot hose without a filter and that I believe caused the dirt/dust issue. Now I have a 5-foot hose with filter, and I hope it will last years and years without a issue.
