Contrary to many other reviews I have no white dust from this humidifier. We have loads of lime/calcium in our water but no issues with the dust people have described. It is really easy to refill. So much easier than our previous unit.
Easy to clean and after a month of full time use we are very pleased. Definitely brings up the humidity level in our home. We burn lots of wood in our wood stove which tends to dry things out and this unit really helps.
I also don’t understand the comments about noise. I’ve never heard even a peep!

In your information of the humidifier no where did it say it was ultra sonic. We had one that was and it left white dust all over. So that is why we brought this one.

Okay I bought this last year and it remained boxed and sealed in a closet waiting for when it was needed. It was easy to set up, easy to turn on, but it’s not easy to sleep in this thing is on because it makes quite the racket!
Reviews saying how quiet it is must be used to something really crazy noisy because this thing is not quiet. It’s sloshes it pops it splashes it ticks, burbles… It’s unsettling and kind of nauseating. Certainly not conducive to sleep. I think it works really well with the mist, but honestly something this noisy? I don’t know how people tolerate it. I’m sorry it’s too late to return it because oh my gosh there’s no way in the world to use it even in the same room I’m in much less in a room where people are sleeping.
I have an air purifier in every room none of them bother me or make any real noise, I’ve had humidifiers all my life and vaporizers. I never had anything make this kind of noise. The non-Rhythmic bubbling and blorting, ticking popping and burping are disgusting. It’s fairly colorful in the living room, with television on. But whatever sounds It makes, change the description from ultra quiet to not at all quiet! That’s a very misleading description from the manufacturer. If bloopy little sounds bother you then I suggest you avoid this one.

Been using about 30 days now. Paid $63.99. Extremely simple to use, looks great. Mine is white. Other reviews complained about noise. Mine is whisper quiet and makes a very slight gurgle occasionally. I use tap water. I have no idea what the “white dust” is the others are talking about. Nothing but a soft mist shoots out. It sits on my dresser in my master bedroom, about 350 sq ft. I bought this one because it is for a bigger room. But that is an advantage. I set it on the very lowest setting and it runs non-stop for about 2.5 days. You can turn the light off, so zero light at night. When empty it shows a small red light. Simply pull the water container straight up and out by its very strong handle. No water comes out. Flip it upside down in the kitchen sink (need a tall spigot), twist open the wide fill plug, fill it up, close the plug, flip it over. No water spills out. Slide it straight back down into its base. I only use this in the Virginia winter. Humidity gets down to 20%. This brings it up to 40% and holds that steady. I think this unit is fantastic.

I’m so sad to say this wonderful little machine didn’t work out for me! I knocked off a star because of the white dust/air quality issues with this type of unit.
When I did my initial research, it was obvious that evaporative humidifiers are the way to go for safer air quality and also because it’s impossible for them to over-saturate the air with humidity. However, they are bigger, louder, and you have to change the filters. ***UPDATE: I ended up with a STEAM humidifier, and I HIGHLY recommend going with steam! You don’t have to constantly change filters, AND, the heat kills any bacteria in the water, so you don’t have to constantly worry about keeping the machine pristine clean, although, you still want to do a vinegar rinse weekly to keep minerals from building up (I use reverse osmosis or water filtered through a ZERO water filter). This is the humifier I ended up with and love: https://www.amazon.com/Steamfast-SF-920-Humidifier-Filter-Free-Aromatherapy/dp/B07BZ9SSPZ/ref=sr_1_15?dchild=1&keywords=steam+humidifier&qid=1615763735&s=home-garden&sr=1-15
I decided to give ultrasonic a chance first, and I just loved this one so much! It doesn’t look *medicinal,” it’s quiet (other than a brook/water sound), and it’s super easy to use and clean. Call me weird, but I even enjoyed the task of filling it up every day! Ha! It was also very easy to remove the water tight cap.
EFFECTIVE? Definitely! It raised my humidity maybe 10-15% taking it from ~35 to ~50 (and not I’ve learned 50% is probably “too much” humidity). I had to run it on high to get the levels up and then run it as speeds of 2 or 3 to maintain it.
TIPS
WHITE DUST. Use distilled water. These types of machines will turn minerals in water into *white dust* which will coat your furniture. I used reverse osmosis water, so I was not expected to see this dusting. My water must have more minerals than I realized, as within a week of using the machine, suddenly, I noticed a light white coating all over my furniture. The day before, I had run the machine on high, and on speed 3 that evening.
I have read that this white dust can be harmful to breathe. I don’t want to take chances with it. I could get a ZERO water filter, but I decided to try an evaporative humidifier instead.
CLEANING. It’s super easy. And with these units, SUPER important, as everything in the water tank turns into tiny particles and goes out into your air. Just move the entire unit to a bathroom or kitchen counter. Measure out 2 cups of distilled vinegar, and let it soak in the unit for 20 minutes (instructions included). THOROUGHLY rinse–especially before using bleach, as the two mixed together are TOXIC. I recommend micro fiber towels for drying the unit. Instead of using bleach, my plan was to use Seventh Generation Disinfectant Spray.
LEAKS. I had a clear, thin cutting board (from VitaMix) under mine, and I’m glad I did, as the first day I used it, there was some water build up around the machine. However, since I’ve since learned humidifiers can leak *all* of their content, a bucket might not be a bad idea! This cute one is wide and shallow->Behrens C17GS 4-1/4-Gallon Galvanized Steel Pail. ***UPDATE: Your cell phone will not work if in the same room as the steel pail! I ended up buying a plastic pail. I’ll be using it for my new Honeywall Humidifier that’s coming: Honeywell Top Fill Digital Humidistat Tower Humidifier, Black
CONDENSATION. If you have the speed up on 3 or 4, I’d have a fan on low. This worked for me in keeping the condensation build up from happening around the machine. You’ll also want a hygrometer of course to keep track of the humidity levels. Anything above 60% can cause problems. Dr. Mercola has an article recommending not going over 45% in order to reduce the risk of mold and fungus build up.
Overall, unless you’re using distilled water and are diligently cleaning the unit every week, I recommend an evaporative humidifier instead.
I hope this helps! Figuring out humidifiers can be a little overwhelming when you’re new to it!

Faily easy to clean and fill. A tank lasts us about 2-3 days when run during the night.

I’ve had this unit for a few days now and it works very well. I really like the very long AC cord (over 6 feet) which makes it easy to move around without having to use an extension cord.
The reason for the 4-star review is simply that, like all ultrasonic humidifiers, it leaves that dreaded “white dust” unlike evaporative humidifiers. I know distilled water eliminates this but I can’t be running to the store every few days to buy the stuff.
As a result, I only use this at the lowest settings and only on the coldest, driest days here in Toronto.
UPDATE:
Rating changed from 4 star to 1 star as the unit died after only 2 weeks. Tried everything to get it running again and nothing worked. Thankfully, I’m still within Amazon’s return window of 30 days so I am returning it.

I’ve owned my first one for about 2 months and I like it so much I bought a second. I like how easy it is to refill. It does not make a sound. And it lasts a good 8-12 hours or more between fills even at the maximum setting. The water line is visible and a light indicator tells you when to refill it. I did learn to set it up on something so that the mist evaporates before it hits the floor. I have one about 3ft off the ground and another about 6ft up. When I first got it I put it on the floor and noticed that the carpet was a bit damp, all to be expected, just a thing to remember when you set it up. Your experience may vary, depends on temp and humidity.

Very easy to use. Good size tank, easy to refill . Easy to adjust. Humidifies a small room well. I can’t speak to a large room. Depends on how dry is the room and how moist do you need it.
