Works perfectly. When I was cooking, smoke from the aroma spread in the great room where the air pro is located. It went off like crazy stating “very bad” air. It cleared up after and back to good. So I know it is working. Haven’t heard my husband and grandkids sneezing since I purchased the air pro and hooked it up. Enjoying it very much and very quiet!

I had the old version of the Molekule and it lasted for years before finally dying. It went unassumingly in a corner and was quiet and worked well. This new version is huge, loud, and doesn’t clean the air well. The sensor is constantly changing the speed of the fan when the room air is already clean and it is NOT quiet like the last generation. Made me a bit sad that I had to return it, but I was able to buy three Leviot air purifiers for the price of this one, and I’m much more satisfied. Also – the replacement filters for this Molekule filter are prohibitively expensive… there’s no reason they should cost so much for a simple filter… making a HEPA filter isn’t new science and the company just milks you for cash with every replacement.

I was skeptical but this product really delivers! Setup was easy, but did take a couple of resets — so don’t get discouraged. It works beautifully. Eventually. In times of normal operation, it’s very quiet in “Normal” mode and undetectable (to me) in “Quiet” mode. It’s when cooking begins that the jet engine fires up. It is SO LOUD that I can’t hear myself think; however, I have not had a single smoke alarm incident when it’s roaring away. (My smoke detectors are WAY over sensitive). My Molekule has even kicked into a higher gear when a neighbor stopped by wearing too much perfume! Loved that. The expense of the unit is extreme but so is its performance compared to the many other filters I’ve owned. The air in my home smells sweet now. I worry about the expense of the replacement filters but the current filter is still at 86% after about a month of continuous running so I’m on pace to have to replace it only 2x/year. Not too bad — especially given wildfires and pathogens these days. Highly recommend. I just wish it were financially accessible for more people. I believe this thing will make a big difference in my health.

I found after buying that Molekule has already been found guilty of false advertising claims and had to retract all 26 out of 26 claims based on a review by the National Advertising Division — you can search online for details.
But this was after I tried it myself. I got the biggest one, the Molekule Pro, to see if it could reduce indoor VOCs in my home. I ran the Molekule at maximum fan speed for two hours while monitoring VOCs using a meter in the same room, and there was no reduction at all in VOCs.
That’s what led me to discover via online research that their advertising claims around “innovative science” are all garbage and this is really just a weak regular filter with a shiny metal body around it, looks nice like a MacBook, but less effective at regular air filtering than competitors 1/3 it’s price, and does absolutely nothing for VOCs, despite their false advertising.

So beautifully designed and improves the air quality of my home definitively. This has made a significant difference in my sleep, too. I notice a difference any time I am away traveling – my nose gets stuffy and I don’t sleep as deeply.

After decades of air cleaner ownership, I concluded before Molekule even existed that HEPA air cleaners are excellent but they simply are not a cure all. They simply could not solve all issues and sometimes introduced a few of their own. Even with UV or ozone free ionization added, they cannot successfully remove every odor imaginable from a room. They may certainly work for another person but maybe not for you, it depends on the particle nature and size in your home. While 99.99% or 99.7% cleaning may sound impressive, these numbers are caveated by particle size and gas exclusions. I have owned and tested with air quality meters and my nose every conceivable high end air cleaner—thousands of dollars spent. HEPA technology simply cannot capture every odiferous mold mycotoxin in existence due to their super small size. Further, UV and standard ozone free ionization additions vary in effectiveness. However, the Molekule PECO technology resolved the mycotoxin odors in our home where no others could. That doesn’t mean PECO technology alone is universally better than HEPA as a general air cleaner. By the way note that now the manufacturer offers a combined HEPA and PECO air filter you can purchase separately. Have I stopped using our HEPA cleaners? No. Are the reviewers and testers attacking Molekule by testing them in smoke chambers or what have you missing the point of PECO? Yes, somewhat. If HEPA is the only answer for all problems then the innovation will stop. Further after decades of using HEPA filters, I have hit some of the issues Molekule historically has mentioned— if they get humid or for example subject to moisture from nearly floor cleaning/mopping they CAN develop some kind of wet dog odor that permeates the machine and motor, not even filter changing works— call that wet smell mold or fungus, often you cannot get rid of it. So HEPA is not perfect, it can be improved on. Returning to my particle size discussion, how many of you have tested your room for particulate matter? With a particulate matter meter you may find your air quality is near perfect but it still smells. You are smelling mycotoxins still in the room and are too small for your meter. And as I noted can sometimes also be too small for a HEPA filter. If I strictly had an average particular matter issue such as smoke then I might assure my air cleaner has HEPA. But if you have a strange odor problem you can’t easily quickly resolve and have maybe tried other HEPA air cleaners. then this air cleaner, which is also very stylish and nicely, built has unique technology that may solve your odor problem.

I love that the Molekule Air Pro has a modern design that doesn’t stick out too much like other more utilitarian air purifiers we looked at. Setup couldn’t be easier, and it’s quiet enough to keep turned on with the auto setting. The app and the touch screen interface are super user friendly, we are really happy overall. The only issue we have with this purifier is the off-gassing chemical smell. We’ve had it turned on for 5 days and were hoping the smell would dissipate by now, but it still persists. If the smell goes away I will return to alter my rating, but if it persists it could impact our desire to use this purifier long-term.
