This is the second Mr. Heater Big Buddy Heater I have purchased. The first one worked so well that I decided to purchase a second one. I use one Big Buddy for the upstairs and one for the downstairs of my home. Their use has reduced the cost of using heat pumps to heat my home to zero.
This Mr. Heater Big Buddy Heater was equipped from the factory with the heat distribution fan, which added much value to the product. I use the Mr. Heater 6-Volt Power Adapter to power the heater’s fan (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HE6OAE). I also use the Mr. Heater 12′ Hose with Regulator & Quick Disconnect (F271803) (www.amazon.com/12ft-Big-Buddy-Hose-Regulator/dp/B000UC7966) to supply low-pressure propane to my heaters.
The Mr. Heater Big Buddy Heater is particularly useful to me because of its adjustable heat output (4,000 to 18,000 BTU) and the fact that I find its consumption of propane to be exceptionally efficient. The heaters create no bad smells and I have detected no carbon monoxide emissions during their use. Further, I have had zero problems with any of the Mr. Heater products I have purchased. Thank you to Mr. Heater.

I spent a little extra for this one because it has the discontinued battery operated fan. I have both types and the fan makes such a difference. I also like that it’s green, to distinguish from my other red models. Quick shipping and very happy with the product. Our first two kept up from freezing through the PNW Ice storm that knocked out our power for multiple days. A+++++!

I just bought this it is my second one . The first one lasted around 15 years . I would recommend this product to anyone. Very portable and easy to use I will be using a 20 pound cylinder but it does work on 1 pound cylinders also

Best portable heater I ever own

Great heater does have the fan and electric start will buy from them again for sure
Dryers –
First off – this has an electric start not the Piezo sparking mechanism. I couldn’t get the heater to start so I sent it back. When they replaced it (2 days later – yes that fast) I still couldn’t get it started. I looked at the directions (My wife made me) that stated to install a battery – I looked at the box and it said “Now includes an Electronic Start”. (hand slap on forehead, my wife was right)
Also – this unit includes an electric fan, to circulate the air, this isn’t listed in the advertisement. Also, Mr. Buddy discontinued the fan on their heaters in 2024 due to “Import Tariffs” . So this will likely be the last option to get one with a built in fan. I have tested that too – and it works really nice.
I also purchased the refil kit and the Fuel-Keg 1lb tanks from Mr. Heater (at Tractor Supply) and those are nice to fit into the pouches on the bag. My heaters (I bought the portable buddy from Tractor Supply and the Big Buddy here) are ready to go camping.
For the record – I bought a Portable Buddy about 5 years ago (red) and always carried it with me on my hunting trips – but never used it. This year, I was in a shooting blind with a friend and decided to pull it out. What a game changer! I kicked myself for not using it sooner. Of course somebody stole it out of the back of my truck during my trip and that is why I just bought two more. Now I can keep one CHAINED in the back of my truck, and I can keep the big one in my 8person tent!
I wish I was an influencer – because I’d try to get Mr. Heater to pay me to tell folks how much I love this product.
Good luck.
