I got this heater for my motorhome and it has worked perfectly. I bought the adapter/regulator/12ft hose accessory package to hook it up a 5 gallon propane tank which was very easy to do. I read a lot of reviews where people don’t like that it doesn’t have a thermostat but what I think they don’t realize is that once you light it and turn it to the low position then you can actually just keep turning the knob down toward the pilot setting to a very low flame otherwise it gets too warm in a small area. I think probably most people just turn it on low and leave it there but yes you can actually turn it down a little lower towards the pilot setting. It does have a very faint propane smell all of them do but it’s very very faint The only time I even notice it is when I go outside and come back in but while I’m in here I don’t notice it at all. Also you can always tell when the tank is about to run out of gas because the smell is a bit stronger. All in all it’s really a great heater I highly recommend. Also I don’t find that I needed the thermostat or a fan it heats up in my RV perfectly.

I bought it two months ago, used it for supplemental heat, perhaps two days out of the week. It shut off so I assumed the room was depleted of oxygen. This being a drafty old house, I waited one week and then tried again. It ran in low heat for several minutes, then a “click” sound, and the flame was lost. Now the pilot will not light. I would suspect a bad thermocouple, but keep in mind- this is just two months old and not used enough for anything to get dirty. Also, the elevation here is 2200 feet, which should be ok.
Previously I had purchased the “Mr. Heater Vent-Free 20,000 BTU Blue Flame Propane Heater” because it had a thermostat. Well, the thermostat didn’t work at all, so I returned it and got this unit. Two bad units from Mr. Heater.
If I could obtain a replacement thermocouple I could repair/ or troubleshoot this very easily. And if Mr Heater would tell me that part number of the thermocouple only, not the assembly, I might change this from one star to two stars.
Also, this was easy to hook up, easy to find a 15 foot hose with regulator, easy to find a NPT to flair fitting adapter, easy to assemble and operate. I just wish it still worked.

Sad that I had to buy: Legines Brass Pipe Fitting, Forged Male 90 Degree Elbow, 3/8″ NPT Male x 3/8″ NPT Male, Pack of 2 to make it work. Why can’t you include the elbow in the box with the heater? At first, I had trouble getting it to fire up. You really have to hold down the button for 60 seconds or so to allow the gas to get to the igniter. Yes, reading the instructions is helpful! It helps keep my 280 sqft insulated cabin toasty. If i were to do it again, I would buy a bigger one so I could also purchase the fan. The heat kinda goes up. So, it is helpful to have a fan to circulate the hot air around. I like the heater and will work for my needs in intermittent use. Again, I would probably get the bigger one if I were to use it more.

This heater works very well for the money. If you need one with a thermostat, then your going to have to fork over more than a couple of hundred dollars. If you can hook up a barbecue then you can hook this up (that is if you buy the correct hose and fitting). If you want it hard plumbed in and you don’t know how to do that before you buy this heater, then don’t expect the instructions to figure it out for you. If you have the necessary knowledge and skills to run a gas line then you’ll be able to plumb this in. If not, then pay someone to. Don’t give it a bad review because you’re doing something outside your skill set! OTHERWISE, this unit works well. I purchased it for our arctic entry just to keep it above freezing so it’s not so cold to be able to keep our coats, boots, etc in it when we hit those negative temps down to -40 or so here in Fairbanks, Ak. The only issue with it is that low was still too high for our needs so I went thru more propane than I wanted to running it 24hrs a day. I’ve pulled it and now use it in my bedroom for supplemental heat. We primarily heat with wood burning stoves and our other heat comes from Toyo heaters so if we keep our bedroom closed it gets downright icy there so we turn this off before bed to take the chill off before coming to bed and then turn it off. I went with an rv fan-less heater that the low setting goes down to 1600 btu’s. I don’t remember what the low is on this but I think it’s at or higher than the 3000 max on the rv heater I’ve ordered. On low at 1600 btu’s it should last 12-13 days instead of 4 or 5. But it kept our arctic entry warm on low even when it was -20.

Meets expectations.
Ideal heater would include thermostat and self ignition. However, happy with features furnished with this (NAT GAS) heater .

I am in love with this little fireplace I bought for my RV. I was using a radiator style plug in heater that barely got my RV warm. This little dynamo is really perfect for my needs and It has been a game changer. I never have to use the high setting either. I was literally freezing to death. The only downfall was I ordered the same product that was $80.00 cheaper and they would not deliver to Oregon or California. (But they sent me this one???) Don’t worry the tank is now outside!
