This device has a rugged metal case with no fancy electrical parts to fail. The ion generator is replaceable, the timer is mechanical, and the UV light switch is mechanical. It has a replaceable power cord and an accessible fuze holder. The instructions are clear, and it comes with a warning tag to put on the door of the area being treated. According to an included card, it comes with a 1-year warranty. It is half the price of my previous device. I will purchase another one of this type if I ever need one. Oh, and it eliminates both odor (Ion generator) and bacteria (UV light).

Bought a house that belonged to a chain smoker. Nothing worked to removed the smell. Desperately searched for a budget friendly way to save this cabin and bought this product based on the reviews. It was the holy grail! It completely removed all smells including the cigarette and old smells. I’m using it everywhere now! It leaves behind a very institutional clean smell, kinda like an upscale hotel room that’s just been cleaned. Buy it. Don’t think twice!

After much research I decided to go with this 10,000mg/h unit. I saw other units from 20,000 to 50,000+ but I figured if the smell is bad enough all I have to do is leave it running an extra 30 minutes or an hour and I’d save quite a bit of upfront cost. Let me tell you, this 10,000 unit kicks out the ozone. I used to work outside in Los Angeles all day long in the late 70s and 80s in the San Fernando Valley where sometimes in Burbank you could not even see the mountains one mile away. The smog (ozone) was that bad. Thick and very dark brown haze. Some days by 10am I could barely breath in because the smog was so bad.
I’m relating this story because when I turned this unit on I did get that strong right after a rain smell but after testing it with my nose (yes, I read/know all the warnings, LA smog did not kill me so I doubt this unit will) I got the same reaction I did back in Los Angeles. After 3 or 4 inhales I could feel it squeezing my lungs like the LA smog used to do. This little unit kicks butt in a good way. I left the room to let the unit do it’s thing. I came back after an hour, entered the room and shut it off. The difference was night and day. It was a new construction cabin with a bunch of woody/gluey/new construction smell. After an hour the cabin smelled fresh and clean. The old musty, new construction, woody, fresh paint smell was gone and replaced with a pleasant fresh smell.
I can see why rental property owners (think Airbnb) use these from time to time to get rid of any malingering foul odors. Plus I did not need to drop $60 to $150 on some high end high power unit. This little 10,000 unit worked perfect !! Rated AAA+++
