Some background, the person I bought this for smokes every day, roughly ten .2 gram bowls a day reportedly. While they are legally permitted to smoke in their home, they prefer to keep the smoke off of their clothing, furniture, and electronics. Smart.
They tell me it worked amazingly for one month. Not a trace of smoke. They blew a huge rip right at me and the only weed I could smell was what escaped from the bowl. Discrete smokers who are living under strict parents/laws/landlords/college dorms should make sure to clear it ever time or cover it with their thumb. Parents/landlords/etc should check for the burn callouses on thumbs to see if their kids/tenants/etc are smoking inside. 😛
Starting today, 29 days after buying it, they reported back to me that carbon on the inside is starting to grow stiff. It still filters the smoke, but they really have to push the smoke through, and it’s starting to escape the corners of his mouth. He told me he’s going to buy more.
The Smokebuddy and basically every other filter out there is a disposable filter or ‘refillable’ with disposable cartridges. I was expecting it to last half a year, it was his Xmas gift. Buying one of those a month would add up on the plastic count. My friend is getting a handmade PVC pipe with threads on both sides, some o-ring screw-on caps with mesh filters, and a big big of activated charcoal pellets to fill it with for Christmas. You could just tape the mesh to a paper towel if you were lazy enough. It will last forever and cost way less in the long run. (Mentioning that last part is to encourage smokebuddy and competitors to make their filters refillable considering how easy any of them could do it.)

This thing is awesome. Literally zero smoke comes out. Dont put the cap back on right after you use it. That’s how they get clogged up and nasty. Let it breathe overnight after using it. That’s what I do….I’ve noticed that it only gets hard to blow through when it’s all clogged up with moisture from breathing into it. If that happens when you use it hit it a few times on the table and it loosens up…I have noticed that over night after leaving the cap off it blows through so easily…The carbon has stayed good so far for a month now and I almost always leave the cap off….

Love this product so far. I haven’t smelled anything in my room since buying this and neither have my roommates. As far as the other reviews saying that smoke leaks out, that is very easily solved by making sure you have a complete seal around the mouth piece. My mouth is small so I can fit my lips inside the mouth piece but my boyfriend’s is larger so he has to have his lips on the outside of the mouth piece, but its still a complete seal either way. I’m just curious to see how long it truly lasts because it says its only good for two months online, but my roommates lasted her almost 2 years in good working condition. Thanks a lot guys! I’m so glad I discovered this product.

I use my Smoke Buddy every day to navigate an extra sensitive smoke alarm. I buy new ones every month or two, and this is the first time I’ve ever had one that lets so much smoke through. Usually, you can see almost nothing come out when you use the product. This one is different. Maybe a manufacturing defect? Maybe a knock-off?

The Smoke Buddy is a fantastic product provided you can use a bong properly there is little to no smell after. the regular sized smoke buddy can last up to a month depending on you usage. I haven’t tried the smoke buddy mega because they sent me the wrong size but they did sort this out for me and I was more than satisfied with the outcome.

I originally had the blue kind with the yellow Smoke Buddy key chain. I noticed this one was cheaper simply because of the color. Wasn’t sure if it was the exact same one, but rest assured it is. It also comes with the Smoke Buddy key chain and comes in the hard to open plastic clam-shell packaging just like the original Smoke Buddy.
My last smoke buddy lasted a little over a year and a half with daily use. Around six to twelve months in you’ll notice it gets harder to breath into. What I did was get a empty toilet roll and attach it to the back, then blow in from that end. This gave me another six months easy. I also washed it in 90% iso. a few times to extend it’s life even more. The stuff that came out was almost black. So yes you can clean it, but then you can’t use it for 1-2 weeks until it fully dried. You can speed up drying using a portable heater or placing it near a window fan, but its still going to take a while.
In hindsight it’s not even worth the hassle to clean it. A new one is so much easier to breath into. Another tip is to point it towards the sky while blowing into it. Then breath in from your nose and blow into it again to make sure all the smoke is pushed toward the back. The reason you point it upwards is so you don’t accidentally drool into the mouth making it less effective.
Works great with bongs and vapes, but remember the bowl also gives off a strong smell and this doesn’t stop that. However, without this my room would be “hot boxed” which if done frequently enough can stain the walls and ceiling. I use this with the air conditioner running full blast (a/c is attached to window) and I also have one of those electric candle thingies (Sensi I think it’s called? It’s a ceramic base with a bulb to heat a scented wax cube) to help clear away the odor.
When this Smoke Buddy eventually goes out in a year or so, I’ll definitely order another one. Nothing on the market comes close to it’s effectiveness and home made “Sploofs” are a joke. Get one of these. It really works.

Für den Preis hätte ich erwartet dass das Teil etwas länger lebt. Nach gut einem Monat dampfen (kein Rauch!) war es quasi dicht und nicht mehr nutzbar. Das ist leider generell bei diesem Hersteller so. Prinzipiell eine super Erfindung, für den Preis jedoch nicht ideal.

This simply works flawlessly for the job you want it to do. It literally takes 100% of the smoke that you blow into it out of the air that comes out the other end. I took a big drag off of a cigarette, put the other end up to my friend’s nose who doesn’t smoke, blew the smoke in, and he could not detect a single hint of smoke smell coming out of the other end. It also works perfectly with other herbs and spices (HA). But seriously, any smoke you blow into this will smell like absolutely nothing when it comes out the other end. Thats the bottom line.

I can’t describe to anyone looking into a product like this just how well this device works. If you live with smoke sensitive persons, need to conceal your habit, or do not want the intense smell of smoke in your living area, this little guy will help you out!
Pros:

The Smoke Buddy does sell a smaller size unit called the Smoke Buddy Jr, and being at what I would consider a low price point for what you are receiving, replacing the whole unit is not a big concern. That being said, I still give this 5 stars as it really did exceed my expectations in its function.
Please remember, this will not completely eliminate the smell, as normally what ever you are smoking probably is still burning (Be smart and still use candles, air fresheners, incense, ect…). This will reduce the smell and the smoke content wherever you are smoking significantly.
