This is a nice little dehumidifier. I bought it because of the smart app feature. I could not get the app to finish installing, even after calling tech support (who, by the way, are very nice and helpful. They even called me back a few times to see if I was successful). Unfortunately, I had to return it. I may buy one of their regular units because I like their products.

I needed a dehumidifier for my basement, and this TCL Smart Dehumidifier checked all the boxes in the features that I wanted.
I installed the app on my phone (I had to manually search for the TCL app on the Google Play store, as the QR code in the instructions didn’t work for some reason) and the WIFI setup was easy. I connected a hose to the drain tub and ran it into the sump, so I wouldn’t have to worry about manually emptying it. My home automation hub was able to link to the app and I am able to monitor it that way and with my phone.
It dropped the humidity from 65% to around 30% in a day or two and has been maintaining it there. While it’s not inexpensive, it has worked flawlessly for well over a month without me having to interact with it, which was exactly what I was looking for.

I’ve been using this every day now for weeks. It is almost unbelievable how much water it is removing from the air.
This has a humidity sensor and a readout on the top that tells you the humidity. After running it for awhile, that number goes down.
This collects water in a compartment – like a drawer – that you can easily remove and dump out when you need to. It has a float valve that turns the unit off when it is full.
Alternatively, you can use the included drain hose to continuously drain the water to a drain or sink, or to a larger collection container. I’ve used it both ways and it works great either way.
I find the unit rather quiet, but if you want absolute silence you could just run it when you are not in the vicinity or at night.
This is a well made unit and I expect it will last for years. I am quite happy with it.
Recommended.

The product is of great quality and sturdy enough to cover a large area easily. It operates quietly, making it suitable for use at night. It would be even better if there were an option for wall installation, but overall, it performs very well and meets my expectations.

This unit is a workhorse! I run it 24/7, either in living areas for regular use due to a humid summer or in the basement after flooding from rain, and it sucks water out of the air beautifully. I empty it 2-3 times a day. The unit automatically pauses when the receptacle is full, and the Full light flashes, so I check it every few hours. My wet basement dries much faster after storms, and the living areas are noticeably less humid. It also helps the window a/c units work less hard when running in a different room. I reuse the water by dumping it in my toilet tank whenever possible.
I have only had a couple of minor issues. It does tend to create a slightly odd metallic smell when it is working—sort of like hot metal. It’s not annoying, but just weird. The receptacle is also oddly designed, so you need to slide the collection tank out from the sides and then grab the surprisingly small handle once the receptacle is pushed out a few inches so you can carry the receptacle to the sink to dump it. The unit also produces a surprising amount of heat – it can increase the temperature in a small room with closed windows but an open door by about ten degrees.

This model does a very good job at removing the moisture in my basement. It is easy to remove the bucket and has a good handle. There is a handle for moving the unit, instead of having to push other makes around. I have only had it about a month. Hopefully this make will last longer than the other brands I have tried. I have decided to purchase the Asurion service contract, as the last make I had died after two years. Fortunately, I had an Asurion contract, and they gave me my money back as a gift card to Amazon without any hassle.

This machine is virtually noiseless. Came with a hose and an attachment to hook up to regular garden hose. Works very well. Glad I purchased.
Amazon Customer –
Unit arrived in partially opened box. Hooks were missing. Called TCL customer service and got absolutely no where! BEWARE of doing business with this company! They insisted that the rear of the unit be photographed and emailed to them. Since I was unable to do this (after much struggling trying to turn the unit around, being an 80+ woman), they refused to honor my request. I ended up returning unit to Amazon because TCL could not be bothered to send the missing parts (two small hooks). What a shabby way to treat a customer! Imagine if the unit malfunctioned after a few months, how they would address this.
