The UTY 30K wall furnace is an efficient and easy to use wall furnace, once you get it installed. The problem is the installation instructions, which, if followed, require a day’s worth of awkward and unnecessary black-iron work. Apparently, the manufacturer is unaware of newer technology flex lines specifically designed for these wall-furnace applications. The good folks at Lowe’s Hardware made me aware of them, and saved me a lot of time.
I was also surprised that the blower fan does not come with the furnace (it arrived on a separate day), and has its own instruction manual, not related to the manual supplied with the furnace. If you have already installed the furnace before the fan’s arrival (as happened to me), you must dismount the furnace and accompanying gas connections in order to install the fan. However, that task is easily done.
The instructions for initial lighting and temperature setting are confusing, and the graphics showing the controls are of very poor quality. They simply do not represent the actual appearance of the controls. I got the furnace ignited simply by following my previous experience with similar wall furnaces.
Once up and running, the furnace has been performing well. The so-called “thermostat” is only a five-step approximator dial mounted on the top of the furnace. You’ll have to find by trial and error which of the five settings provides your appropriate heat level. The blower fan, which has an “auto” mode, turns the fan on when heat is needed. It is a very useful part of the furnace, but for some bizarre reason is sold and shipped separately.
All told, this is a good and efficient product, but badly marketed with a confusing and obsolete instruction manual.

Just had it installed two days ago. The heat is great but so far the auto on the fan doesn’t work. I will call tech back to see what he says. I had to have someone installed it because of changing gas lines. The unit came on time and I’m sure we will fix the fan problem. Really to early to give review but didn’t think I would get another chance. Problem with fan was fixed and the seller has saved me another service call. The heater works good now and so does the fan.
