- The cooling effect of the cooling fan cannot reach the cooling effect of the air conditioner, and the effect is better when used outdoors] working principle: Using water as the medium, the built-in water pump allows cold water to continuously circulate and evaporate in the machine and cool the surrounding air.

You can manually adjust the vertical angle of the louvers for maximum comfort and it can also automatically swing horizontally from 0° to 72°, ensuring that you can feel the cool breeze from any corner of the room.
- Stays Cool: We provide 2 ice packs to make the evaporative air cooler and further cool the water. The cooler also includes 1-sided rigid high-density cooling pads that increase the evaporative surface area, resulting in more cool air.
- Hassle-free to Use: Easy to operate with mechanical buttons. No need to worry about using portable evaporative cooler for extended periods, the buttons won’t blur, and you won’t forget which mode you selected. You can easily open the top cover to add water directly, without any location restrictions.

This thing is quiet and worked great for 3 months in Arizona. The pump stopped working and it is outside of the return window.. A waste of money for something that only lasted a little over 3 months.

This a quiet, for a big fan, 3 speeds, the cooling works so that it isn’t blowing hot air and the option to move the air back and forth without the whole fan moving makes a big difference. Not sure what the mode button is for and the instructions don’t explain it.

Love using the fan because its so strong but even if I put a bunch of ice and water in the reservoir, it wont cool very well. It mostly just puts moisture in the air.
Debi –
Works well as a fan but do not expect much cooling. Adding ice packs or ice generates very little cooling effect.

This an excellent summer solution where humidity is not a factor. I am using it in Montreal, apart from two weeks of Humidity, this one served me very well to date. Thank you Vevor !

I live in Alberta where the climate is hot and dry and it really helps. My only mistake was that I didn’t buy 2 of these when they went on sale. For the most part the portable air conditioners I bought in the past are really getting a run for their money with this baby. I can leave windows open for fresh air and I am chill as long as I am in front of this machine and can put ice or ice packs in for an quick cool down. Well worth it.

We set this up, although the directions were not very good at all. Very hard to understand. One use and it leaked all over the floor and blew only warm air, even though the cool button was pressed. To empty it you need 2 people as the outlet is an inch or less from the floor, so you need 1 person to lift it and another to hold it over a container. Be aware – the cooler was to be returned to sender, not Amazon (I didn’t read where it came from and where it was to be returned – to sender) and you have to pay the postage. With a box that big it would have cost me more than I paid for it. The sender returned my money (except they would not return the $ I paid for an extended warranty) and out of the goodness of their heart, told me that I did not have to return it. Now I have to dispose of it somehow.

Honestly I love this thing. My first one got utterly crushed in transit and had to be replaced as DOA, but that process was relatively painless and now I’m on my second season with the new one and I’m still in love with it. Now here in Arizona we have ambient humidity in the single digits so your mileage may vary on effectiveness, but evaporative coolers work incredibly well here. I’ve filled this thing up with water, dumped out my freezer’s icemaker tray into the top feed, and pulled out my laser thermometer to read a 20 degree difference between the aiming vanes and the interior door behind the unit. This thing buys me an extra month or two each year where I don’t have to pay electric to fire up my air conditioner.
But what I like most of all is that this unit is entirely mechanical. All the buttons give a hefty “clunk” when pressed, like an old-school oscillating desk fan. If you hook it up to a simple outlet timer, it comes back on exactly where you left it. You can turn on the pump without turning on the fan to pre-soak the pad. You can turn on the swing vanes and nothing else, which is useless except for making a very slight noise in an otherwise silent room that takes ten minutes to track down. It just feels simple and durable like so few things these days do.
Every spring when the swamp coolers come back out again here, I usually have to give the pump and the water level sensor a soak in vinegar to break up last year’s hard water scale and get everything moving again. This one, I just filled with water, gave it a light kick, and the shock un-stuck the water pump and fired it right up again. I dread having to soak and scrub my other, much more complicated cooler.
I love this thing and if it dies I’m buying another one.

[Update]
After reading the reviews for this product, it has become clear that the reviewers fall into one of two distinct categories. Those who have prior experience with swamp coolers tend to leave very positive reviews, while those unfamiliar with this (almost ancient) technology have unrealistic expectations and tend to leave one-star reviews.
In a normal setup a swamp cooler is installed on the outside of a building to draw air in from outside. This air is cooled by the water and blown into the home. You MUST provide an open door or window, preferably on the opposite side of the room, to allow the hot, stale air to be pushed out of the room. The constant replacement of air is what cools the room. You cannot place this cooler in the corner of your living room and expect it cool the room. You will simply be recirculating the same air until it reaches 100% humidity and you will be miserable.
Another important factor is the relative humidity in your area. Simply put, it’s very effective in low humidity but almost useless once the humidity surpasses 50%. Those living in the western half of the country are more likely to be happy with the performance of this cooler. Please see the attached chart that shows what temperatures can be achieved in your specific conditions.
I have used this cooler daily for the last 45 days. Regardless of what the marketing material says, this unit is designed for OUTDOOR use, and this is where it really shines.
I have been able to spend afternoons and evenings on my patio with outdoor temps above 100°. The air must be blowing on you constantly to keep you cool. The unit uses a little over one gallon per hour of operation giving you approximately 5-1/2 hours use between fillings.
While this cooler works great outdoors, it is NOT capable of cooling your house, or even your bedroom.
[Original Review]
I live in west Texas where we have very low humidity and this unit is perfect for my situation. I was able to sit comfortably on my patio while the ambient temperature was 108°.
I like the overall design of how the water is pumped from the bottom reservoir to a tray at the top. The water then spills out the tray and distributed to the 3 cooling pads. Very simple design.
The ice packs are pretty useless but you can use them in your Yeti cooler. Filling the top compartment with ice made the discharged air considerably cooler but the ice was completely melted in less than 10 minutes.
I use Swampy (yes, he has a name) in my garage and on my patio. I keep the garage door open about 1 foot with Swampy backed up to the opening. Swampy can cool my garage approximately 20°. This puts my overall garage temp at 86° during the hottest part of the day. While 86° is still hot I am very comfortable if the unit is blowing directly on me.
The temperature of the discharged air is noticeably cooler when the fan is on low speed since the air spends more time within the cooling media therefore extracting more heat. Run the fan on high if you’re trying to push a lot of air. Run it on low while sitting in front of it while out on the patio for maximum cooling.
The humidity in my location is usually less than 20% and often in the single digits. This cooler performs well in these conditions. The effectiveness of this unit drops dramatically once the relative humidity surpasses 45-50%.
My biggest complaint about this unit is that the filter/cooling media cannot be easily changed. There is no way to access the pads without disassembling the unit and there is no mention of changing the pads in the owner’s manual.
Overall I am very pleased with the performance of this unit.
